Gays Mills man charged with resisting, obstructing
On Feb. 2, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a woman who was concerned about the wellbeing of her children. Her mother was currently watching the children at her residence in the village of Gays Mills. The woman stated that her ex-husband was at the residence intoxicated.
After speaking with the women, Crawford County deputies made phone contact with the man, who was identified as Ronald E. Sanders, 36, Gays Mills. Deputies attempted to have Sanders voluntarily turn himself in for probation violations. Sanders refused the deputies requests. Deputies were able to locate Sanders several hours later at 16568 Highway 131, Gays Mills. Deputies attempted to take Sanders into custody for the probation violations. At this time Sanders began to resist and fight with the deputies. Deputies were able to secure Sanders and arrested him for the probation violations.
Sanders is also charged with resisting and obstructing an officer and cited for possession of marijuana.
Assisting the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was the State of Wisconsin Probation and Parole Office.
