Cow causes chain reaction accident
On Monday, Feb. 10, at 5:28 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a three-vehicle accident on Highway 60 approximately three-tenths of a mile east of Brown Hollow Road in Wauzeka Township.
A 2004 Dodge Caravan operated by Cassandra S. Whiteaker, 17, Boscobel, was eastbound on Highway 60 when it struck a cow. Noah J. Nichols, 15, Boscobel, was a passenger in Whiteaker’s vehicle. After the Whiteaker vehicle struck the cow, a 2004 Ford Freestar operated by Kenneth W. Thiede, 55, Muscoda, attempted to stop and was rear-ended by a 1981 Kenworth Semi which was operated by Edward C. Pugh, 67, Reedsburg.
The Whiteaker vehicle sustained extensive damage. The Thiede vehicle had minor damage and the Pugh vehicle had minor damage. No injuries were claimed in the accident.
Assisting the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department were the Wauzeka First Responders, Boscobel EMS and Wauzeka Fire Department.
