Two Bulldogs headed to district wrestling

Nathan Howe pinned DeVante Miller of Jesup to advance to next week’s district wrestling at 182 pounds. Howe was given a bye into the semi-finals, where he won by decision over Griffen Cabalka, of East Buchanan, 6-2.

Howe will be joined at the district’s in Jesup by 285-pound champion Gatlin Keehner, who had only one match against East Buchanan’s Jordan Lenz, pinning Lenz in 56 seconds to advance as champion.

Next weekend, Howe will wrestle Ryan Mueller, of Clayton Ridge, in the first match. If he is successful, he will face the winner of the match between Alburnett’s Austin Hoyle and DeVante Miller. Keehner will face North Linn’s Kyler Schott. If Keehner prevails, he will face the winner of Jordan Lenz versus Tyler Yonkovic, of Maquoketa Valley, who is 47-0 going into district.
