James Donald “Cips” Cipra, 67, Rockford, devoted and dearly loved father of “The magnificent seven” died at 8:30 A.M. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at his home, peacefully with family.
He was born Feb. 11, 1946, in Prairie du Chien, son of Frank and Esther Berntgen Cipra. He married Joellyn Lindner of Marquette, Iowa on Sept. 24, 1966. He was a US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was employed at Ingersoll for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He will be remembered as a very giving man who loved his family, and was an avid Packer fan.
Survivors include his children, Alecia (Dave) Jackson, Dennese (Aaron) Bond, Jamie (Dana) Cipra, Craig (Kari) Cipra, Kimberly (Luke Burke) Cipra, Michael and Gary Cipra; brothers and sisters, Donald (Shirley) Cipra, Dale (Donna) Cipra, Delores (Gari) Walz, Jeanette Clark and Teresa (James) Tichenor; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jared, Kyle, Logan, Charlotte, Luke, Lauren, Lilyana, Makayla, Taylor and Alec; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Frank Jr., parents Frank and Esther Cipra and Joellyn Cipra. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their care during this time.
