By Michael Newton
The MFL MarMac girls jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over the visiting West Central Blue Devils, en route to a 61-20 victory Jan. 7. After trailing 32-14 at the half, West Central tried to come up with a new game plan for the second half, but their shots would not fall. The Bulldog girls laid a 18-0 shutout on the Blue Devils in the third quarter and held them to 29-4 overall for the second half, as the mercy rule was invoked.
The Bulldogs were led by Madelyn Vogt with 17 points and Marcy Klein, who added nine. Four West Central girls scored four points. The win put the Bulldogs at 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the conference. West Central fell to 1-9 overall and 0-8 in conference play.
