Rotary Club’s 25th annual New Year’s Day Brunch to benefit the community

The Prairie du Chien Rotary Club invites the public to celebrate the first day of 2014 at the 25th annual New Year’s Day Brunch. The joyous event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Huckleberry’s Banquet Facility. As with all Rotary fundraisers, proceeds from the brunch are donated back into the communities to support worthy projects and causes.

Tickets are available at the door. Children 6 and under are admitted for free. Also, 50/50 cash prize drawings will be held throughout the day.

“After 25 years of hosting this event, it continues to be a strong fundraiser for our club, thanks to the support of our community friends. The funds raised enable us to continue to do worthwhile work in the areas of youth, family and community development,” said Jay White, Rotary Club president.

Funds raised by the Prairie du Chien Rotary Club are used to support numerous local projects, including: Sending high school sophomores to leadership training provided through Rotary International; Mississippi River Adventure Days; Thanksgiving dinners to area families; Foreign Exchange Youth Sponsorship Program; Marquette Road Beautification project; and St. Feriole Island Memorial Gardens. The club also regularly contributes to community organizations and events such as the Jaycees Operation Santa Claus, United Way of Prairie du Chien, the Eagles Heart and Cancer Telethon and Prairie du Chien Relay for Life.
