The MFL-MarMac girls took a week off and used it to prepare for the Postville Lady Pirates, and it paid off, as the Bulldogs won 67-46 on Tuesday, Dec. 17. A 22-point barrage in the first quarter gave the Bulldogs a 13-point lead at 22-8. Madelyn Vogt and Erin Kinley scored 16 of those 22 points. The Bulldogs didn’t need the three- pointer, as they did a good job in close and didn’t give the Pirates many second chances. The Pirates had a hard time on the free throw line, making just 10 out of 24 attempts. At halftime, the Bulldogs led 35-24.

The Bulldogs put the game away in the second half with a 13-point third quarter and a 19-point fourth quarter. With 16 points, Haley Vogt was the game leader. Madelyn Vogt and Kinley added 14 points. Madysen Wahls led the Pirates’ attack with 15 points.

With the win, MFL MarMac went to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Postville fell to 0-4 in conference play.
