Glen J. Myers, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster.
He was born Aug. 2, 1931 in Beetown Township, the son of Russell and Catherine (Neis) Myers. Glen graduated Bloomington High School in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951, and served for four years. Glen married Margaret A. O’Connor on Nov. 3, 1954 and together they farmed in Bloomington Township. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and American Legion Post #5 of Patch Grove.
Glen is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Margaret; his children, Mary (Paul) Wiley, Kenneth (Peggy), Carl (Melanie), Allen (Bonnie), and Conrad (Wendy) Myers; ten grandchildren; a brother Gene (Darlene) Myers; two sisters-in-law Betty Myers and Catherine Friar; and nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson Ryan Myers; his brother Paul and a brother-in-law Clement Friar.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Glen J.
