Beverly R. Dubbels

 

Beverly Ruth (McKinney) Dubbels, 83, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Interment was at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Beverly was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth (Pierce) McKinney.

Beverly grew up in Cedar Rapids where she graduated from Franklin High School.  On July 30, 1949, Beverly was united in marriage with Kermit Dubbels at the Central Park Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.  For many years, Beverly took on the task of making a home for her husband and children. One of the perks of that job was the ability to do knitting, crocheting and baking which she enjoyed and she was an avid reader.  Beverly was a long time member of St. Paul Church in Guttenberg where she participated in various church committees and organizations such as church council, WELCA and funeral coordinator and she was also a member of the Guttenberg Hospital Auxiliary. 

Beverly will be forever loved and cherished by her husband of 64 years, Kermit; five children, Diane (Don) Peters, Greg (Reccie) Dubbels, Debbie Eller, Lynda Frangipane and Tracy (Stan) Reitz; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Janice Frommelt and many other relatives and friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Randy.

In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, memorials may be sent to the Guttenberg Public Library which was a big part of Beverly’s life.
