The MFL MarMac Bulldog Girls Basketball team looked good and executed well at the Nov. 19 Bulldog Jamboree, according to Coach Jason Halverson. The Bulldogs played a half of basketball against East Buchanan High School at the jamboree, winning 53-20. All nine varsity players played in the contest, with the tenth girl, Chaun’te Drahn, out until mid-December with an Achilles injury. This year’s team will be small, but quick, and they played a loose game against a less talented team.

In the first game of the jamboree, Elkader Central used the three point shot often, as they won 29-13 over Turkey Valley. The night cap was Postville versus Waukon, but no result was available.

The boys basketball team hosted a jamboree on Nov. 25 and the girls opened their season at Sumner on Nov. 26. Both games, as well as a season preview, will be in the Dec. 4 issue of the North Iowa Times.
