Hunter shoots his hand
A Mukwonago man shot his hand while deer hunting on private property in Beetown Township Saturday morning, Nov. 23, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 6:30 a.m., Gregory Knott, 32, was hunting on property owned by James Knapp, on Highway 35, in rural Beetown. He was seated in an elevated ladder stand and loading a .45 semi-automatic handgun when the gun discharged, striking him in the palm of his left hand. Knott was taken by private vehicle to Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster and later transferred by private vehicle to UW-Madison Hospital.
No arrests or charges were made, according to the sheriff’s department.
