Edward H. Meng, 102, of Bagley passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Prairie Maison Care Center.
He was born Feb. 7, 1911 in Wyalusing Township the son of John and Ida (Wolf) Meng. He married Birdie Clark on Feb. 24, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa. He farmed most of his life in the Bagley area. Ed was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Birdie of Bagley; his sons, LaVern (Nancy) and Dale (Nancy Reiss) both of Jefferson, and Robert of Bagley; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Richard, John, Carl and Irvi; along with his sisters, Lena Tyler, Lydia Fuller, Emma Moon and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rev. Pamela Strakejahn officiating with burial in the Bagley Cemetery both in Bagley. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the West Grant Rescue Squad or the Bagley First Responders. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
