Judy (Troester) Manning, 60, of Spring, Texas, formally of Elkader, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at her home due to a courageous battle with cancer.
Gravesite services were held Saturday, Oct. 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader, where Judy's ashes were laid to rest next to her father, Raymond Henry Troester.
Judy was born the daughter of Raymond Henry and Marjonell (Garaghty) Troester on Aug. 5, 1953. Judy attended Elkader Central High School, Class of 1971. She then moved to Texas to attend Texas International Airline Attendant School in Houston. She graduated Nov. 22, 1974, and flew with Texas International until their consolidation with Continental Airlines.
Judy is survived by her sibblings, Dennis (Susan) Troester of Dubuque, Richard (Kay) Troester of Elkader and Susan Troester Riegel of Garnavillo; half-siblings, Kathy (Todd) Ihde of Garnavillo, Jeff and Doug Schmelzer of Elkader; nieces and nephews, Tammy Rae Barton of Iowa City, Misty and Emmy Raye Troester of Garnavillo, Stacia (Rob) Gillam, Benjamin and Nicholas of Alaska, Madonna (Steve) Wellendorf, Brandon and Allison of Virginia, Tim (Amanda) Troester, Noah and Caleb of Oregon, Darren (Mary Ann) Troester, Trinten, Lily, Bryce and Dylan of Guttenberg, Nikki (Tim Smith) Troester, Kahne, Kameron and Koulter of Guttenberg and Stephanie, Christopher and Eric Ihde of Garnavillo.
Judy was preceeded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marjonell; maternal grandparents, Tom and Ann (Auer) Garaghty; paternal grandparents, Louis and Caroline (Brase) Troester and two, great-nephews: Jared Mueller and Jarren Ray Moser.
