Bruce L. Drewis


Bruce Lee Drewis, 50, of Burlington, N.C, died at his residence on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at 9:47 a.m. 

Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington, N.C.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Westside Fellowship Church. 

Burial was at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayetteville, N.C.

A native of Denver, Iowa, he was the husband of Debbie Wilkerson Drewis and son of Joyce Schnurstein Lahmann and Danny Drewis and his wife Linda, all who survive. Bruce was the manager of Burlington Brands, Inc. and a supporter of activities at Western Alamance High School. He was a member of Westside Fellowship Church. 

Bruce was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife of the home, mother of Guttenberg and father of Denver, Iowa. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Shipman and husband, Gary of Fayetteville, Heather Nicole Drewis and friend, Minh Tran of the home and Hannah Marie Drewis and friend, Neil Kernodle of the home; three grandchildren, Meghan, Gracie and Emma Shipman; two sisters, Jennifer Drewis Curtis and husband, Chris of Evansdale and Kris Drewis Murley and husband, Steve of Rushford, Minn.; mother-in-law, Gladys Wilkerson of Fayetteville, N.C., and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Dean Drewis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of his daughter, Heather, to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 210, Raleigh, NC 27609.
