Poster recognized at state level

B.A. Kennedy student Shaw Esser, Prairie du Chien, was recognized last week by the Prairie du Chien Fire Department for the fire prevention awareness poster he created as a kindergartener last year in Ms. Emily O’Brien’s class. His fire poster was not only selected at the local level but it also won first place in the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association contest for his grade level. He received a plaque and his winning poster in a large frame, along with a cash prize from the state. Pictured (front row, from left) are Amber Pulda, of American Family Insurance, who sponsors the local contest; Shaw Esser; Ms. Emily O’Brien; (back row) Fire Chief Harry Remz; Shaw’s mother Bre Esser; and Fire Safety Officer Matt Stubbe.
