Volleyball Bulldogs end regular season in close loss to Clayton Ridge

Hoping to avoid a winless season, and break a 34-match losing streak, the MFL MarMac Bulldogs traveled to Guttenberg to play the Clayton Ridge Eagles in the regular season ending match on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Eagles won the match 25-23, 25-23 and 25-19. 

 

The Bulldogs scored nine aces and 19 kills and had a 93 percent serve in play efficiency. Jillian Haberichter and Lexi Dettbarn were a combined 24 of 24 serving, with five aces and nine kills to lead the Bulldogs. 

 

The Eagles dominated on the kill side of the game with 46 kills, including 23 from freshman Savannah Domeyer and 13 from Erica Armstrong. 

 

Clayton Ridge finished the regular season at 2-6 in the conference and 7-17 overall. The Bulldogs fell to 0-22 overall and 0-8 in the conference. Two conference tournament games and a state tournament game are still left on the schedule.
