MFL MarMac falters in conference volleyball tournament

The MFL MarMac Bulldogs traveled to Jackson Junction for their pod of the Upper Iowa Conference Volleyball tournament at Turkey Valley last week. Turkey Valley and North Fayette Valley were also assigned to this pod.
In match one, the Bulldogs played Turkey Valley. The Bulldogs lost the match 25-5 and 25-14. The Bulldogs couldn’t get the serve in as well as they had most of the season, only managing 12 of 16 serving, with a lone Alison Thurn ace. Jillian Haberichter had five of the team’s nine kills. Turkey Valley had 18 kills, and was led by Johanna Blazek, who had five. Turkey Valley also had eleven aces. Taylor Novotny led the team with six.
Match two saw the Bulldogs playing North Fayette Valley. NFV won the match 25-18 and 25-11. In this match, the Bulldogs served better, going 20 of 24 with two aces by Jillian Haberichter. The Bulldogs also managed 14 kills, with Amber Adney getting six.
With those losses, the Bulldogs fell to 0-24 overall
The Bulldogs will now have a few days away from games before playing on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Sumner in the second round of district play.
