Raymond A. Jaeger
Raymond A. Jaeger, 71, formerly of Guttenberg, died of natural causes in his home in Dumax, Texas, on Sept. 29, 2013.
A celebration of life will be held on Nov. 2, at 5:30 p.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church, Guttenberg, with military rites.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Amerillo, Texas.
Raymond was born to Albert and Lucille (Hefel) Jaeger on March 25, 1942, in Iowa City. He attended St. Mary's School in Guttenberg. After school he worked for Kenny's Boat Line and on the Mississippi River Barge Company. He joined the U.S. Air Force from Jan. 1961 to Jan. 1965.
Raymond married Sue Smith in Peru, Ind. They had two children. They later divorced. On Nov. 17, 1990, Raymond married Shirley Hall.
Raymond is survived by his children, Raymond Jr. (Sabrina) of Canadian, Texas, LaNita (Jed) Hancock of Largo, Ind.; three grandchildren, Joey, Jessica and Charlie Jaeger; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Jaeger; five step children; eight stepgrandchildren; sisters and brothers, Rita Kregel, Robert (Betty) Jaeger, Norma Engelken and Roland Jaeger; sisters-in-law, Frances Jaeger, Eileen Jaeger and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; brothers and sisters, George, Don, Joseph Jaeger, Lorraine Wolter, Dorothy Cole, Evelyn Scherbring; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Wilma Jaeger, Adolph Wolter, Russell Cole, Elmer Scherbring, Eldon Kregel, Walter Engelken, Vicki Jaeger and RevaMae Jaeger.
A Raymond Jaeger Memorial has been established.
