Traffic stop on Hwy. 61 leads to alcohol arrest

On Oct. 8, at 12:47 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant operated by April M. Kester, 18, Readstown. Kester was traveling southbound on Highway 61 near County X in the township of Clayton. The Kester vehicle was stopped for having an obstructed view.

During the stop, it was found that passenger Ashley M. Goodwin, 19, Viroqua, had an open intoxicant. Further into the investigation it was found that Kester was in violation of absolute sobriety. Kester was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail. Goodwin was issued a citation for underage drinking and a warning was issued for the open intoxicants.
