MFL MarMac falls to St. Ansgar 68-8

The MFL MarMac Bulldogs had no answer to the St. Ansgar Saints running attack on Monday, Oct. 7, giving up 429 yards rushing yards, including two 100-yard rushers, as St. Ansgar rolled to a 60 point victory. 


The Bulldogs gave up runs of 80 and 50 yards for touchdowns, as well as a kickoff return of 88 yards for a touchdown. The Saints threw two total passes, completing one for a 10-yard touchdown. 


Bulldog Quarterback Austin Schoulte threw three interceptions, one returned 36 yards for a touchdown. He went 7 of 18, passing for 81 yards. The Bulldogs also lost one fumble. 


The Bulldog defense recovered two fumbles. Chase Strub was the rushing leader for the Bulldogs with 94 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs managed 189 total yards of offense.


The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in district play. It also eliminated them from the post season. 


St. Ansgar‘s record went to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the district.
