Susan K. Waller, 60, of Vallejo and formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 1, 1953 in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Robert and Irene (Schmitz) Waller. Sue worked for Citi Bank in their community reinvestment division for over 25 years. She was proud to help moderate to low income people in the San Francisco Bay area realize their dreams. She was an avid sports fan.
She is survived by her sister Cheryl (Gale) Beneker of Prairie du Chien; her brothers, Jim (Diane) Waller of Merrimac, Jerry (Noreen) Waller of Hunt Valley, Md. and Jan (Lori) Waller of Prairie du Chien; her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and thought of as her own children, Kim, Dana, Darrell, Kurt, Tonya, Shawn, Jenny, Kayleigh, Brent and Michael along with her faithful companions, Cookie and Barney. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 19, at 12 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, with Rev. Joe Irvin officiating. A private family interment will be later in the Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
