Shirley A. “Squirrel” Winslow, 54, of Eastman passed away Friday, Oct. 4, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 28, 1959 in Belvidere, Ill. the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Carter) Taylor. She married Earl Winslow on May 21, 1990, in Cherry Valley, Ill. She worked as the court clerk for Winnebago County, Ill. After moving to the Eastman area she cooked at Hubbard’s Float in Lynxville and most recently worked at The Title Company and the Black Angus in Prairie du Chien. She loved collecting squirrels of all shapes and sizes and enjoyed feeding the furry visitors in her yard.
She is survived by her husband Earl of Eastman; her son Matthew Winslow of LaCrosse; stepsons, Brian and Travis Winslow and their families; her brothers, Terry (Mary) Taylor of Rockford, Ill. and James (Barb) Taylor of Greeneville, Tenn.; her sister Betty (Gary) Walley of Belvidere, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Clint Taylor along with an infant sister.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Seneca Town Hall in Seneca. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
