PdC City-wide Cleanup next week
The 2013 City-wide Residential Fall Cleanup, sponsored by the Prairie du Chien Street Department, is scheduled to be held Oct. 14-16.
Cleanup will be Monday, Oct. 14 for those residents living north of Blackhawk Avenue. Tuesday, Oct. 15 will be for those living south of Blackhawk Avenue and east of Marquette Road. Wednesday, Oct. 16, will be for those living south of Blackhawk Avenue and west of Marquette Road.
Garbage picked up by the street department will include:
Appliances—Must have doors and locks removed.
Brush—Must be piled parallel to the curb or alley so it can be scooped up easily or it will not be picked up. Construction and remodeling material will not be picked up. It must be put in a dumpster.
* Appliances, metal recyclables, brush, glass and trash must be kept separate.
* Appliances and brush must be curbside in front or in alley to rear of residence.
Paint cans—Only latex paint will be picked up. Lids must be removed and any remaining paint must be dried out.
Glass—Must be removed and separated from other articles.
Tires—Must have rims removed. A maximum of eight tires can be left for pick up. Car and light-duty tires only.
Used oils—Must be delivered by property owner to rear of the city street shop and properly disposed of into the red 500-gallon used oil containment center.
* Street crews will pick up brush, appliances and metal recyclables.
Electronics will not be accepted or picked up. These items must be disposed of at clean sweep/e-waste collection event held twice annually in Crawford County. Watch for information about the Prairie du Chien event in the spring.
Town and Country Sanitation will pick up all other remaining items on the following Saturday, Oct. 19.
Please note that there will be no return trip. Please be sure your items are out on the proper days.
