Body of missing PdC man is found
The body of a missing Prairie du Chien man, Trey M. Cornell, was found in the Mississippi River over the weekend near Prairie du Chien.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, two individuals who were duck hunting on the Mississippi River discovered what they thought was a body on an island south of the sewer plant in Prairie du Chien. Members of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and the Prairie du Chien Police Department responded.
It was later determined that the body was that of Trey M. Cornell, 19, Prairie du Chien. Cornell had been reported missing on May 25.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, the Prairie du Chien Police Department and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office had searched the river in the days after Cornell was reported missing. The search efforts had been focused on the river below the Highway 18 Bridge.
No foul play is suspected.
