Jesup defeats Bulldogs 46-8

The MFL-MarMac Bulldogs dropped their 1A District Four opener to Jesup 46-8 on Friday, Sept. 13. 

 

Jesup slowed down the running game, allowing just 139 yards. The Bulldogs were led by Colby Ferguson, who had 69 yards rushing. Austin Schoulte was kept to just 116 yards passing, including a touchdown pass of 15 yards to Liam Ruff. Schoulte was 8-17 passing and also threw an interception. The Bulldog defense had three takeaways, with an interception by Bryce Burke and fumble recoveries by Seth Heying and Matt Jacobs. Heying led the team with 11 tackles. With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in district play.

 

On Friday, Sept. 20, the Bulldogs will play at Sumner-Fredericksburg, who lost to South Winneshiek last week.  Sumner-Fredericksburg has never lost to MFL-MarMac.
