Local supper club to host author Ron Faiola

Author and filmmaker Ron Faiola, who has written the hugely popular “Wisconsin Supper Clubs: An Old-Fashioned Experience,” will be appearing at several events in southwest Wisconsin. On Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., Jones’ Black Angus in Prairie du Chien will host a special talk and Q&A with Faiola on the state’s rich supper club culture and his book-writing experience.

The event will feature a wine tasting, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary copy of the book. Reservations are required. A discounted rate will be available for couples’ tickets.

Faiola will also be back at Jones’ on Sept. 13, for their Friday fish fry. Additionally, Faiola will make an appearance at Rocky’s Supper Club in Stoddard on Sept. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., meeting guests and signing copies of his book at both locations. Copies will be available for purchase at both clubs.

Wisconsin Supper Clubs takes readers on a tour of more than fifty supper clubs throughout Wisconsin, highlighting the traditional cuisine, special amenities and history that make each club unique.
