Former slaughterhouse manager pleads guilty in Agriprocessors case
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA—The former manager of an Iowa slaughterhouse has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to harbor undocumented workers for profit.
Former Agriprocessors, Inc., poultry manager Hosam Amara entered the guilty plea Friday at the federal courthouse in Cedar Rapids. The plea was required under an agreement released Thursday in which prosecutors dropped several other counts.
The 48 year old faces a maximum 10 years in prison. U.S. District Judge Linda Reade hasn’t scheduled the sentencing hearing yet.
