Catherine T. Remy, 62, of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse, after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 28, 1950, in Berwyn, Ill. the daughter of Harold and Helen (Surd) Hall. She worked for Homeward Bound and later Lori Knapp Inc. in Prairie du Chien for many years and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Cathi was an adamant caregiver and in some circles known as “the cookie lady.” She enjoyed bowling and gardening but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Hall, of Prairie du Chien, and Melisa Jones, of Farmersburg, Iowa; her son Benjamin Barley, of Prairie du Chien; a brother Ted (Sue) Hall, of Oswego, Ill.; her sisters, Fran (Bill) Bailey, of Oswego, and Marie Hall, of Orlando, Fla.; along with her grandchildren, Shelby Richardson, Chance, Caleb and Corbin Jones, Jacob Nehl and Xana Barley along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael and Herbert Hall; a grandson Quinton Thomas Jones and a nephew Thomas Hall.
A celebration of Cathi’s life will be Saturday, Sept. 21, at 12 p.m. at Lawler Park in Prairie du Chien. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
