Enid E. Spaight, 89, of Burlington passed away on Monday, July 29, at the Zilber Family Hospice Center in Wauwatosa.
She was born May 5, 1924 to Robert and Florence (nee Goetsch) Olson in Racine. She attended East Cape Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School. On September 20, 1947 she was united in marriage to the late Colin Spaight. Together with her husband, Enid once owned and operated the Dover Inn. She lived in many areas before calling Burlington her home. Enid proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and participated in the Honor Flight in November 2011.
Enid is survived by her son Kevin (Maria) Spaight; brothers and sisters-in laws; several nieces and nephews and many friends in Racine County and Prairie du Chien. Enid will also be dearly missed by her buddy Brody the Irish Terrier. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and various nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Enid has suggested memorials be made to National Humane Society, The Nature Conservancy Wisconsin Chapter, Union Grove Library or any charity of your choice.
