Gloria Hernandez Pierce, 79, of Guttenberg passed away on July 27, 2013, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 30, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg.
Funeral services were Wednesday. July 31, at the United Methodist Church in Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Penny Hansel.
Interment was at Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dubuque.
Gloria Hernandez Pierce was born on Feb. 9, 1934, to Jesus and Conception (Perris) Hernandez in San Antonio, Texas. She attended high school until the 9th grade.
She worked at Products Unlimited as a machine operator until her retirement in 1990. Gloria married Wilmer Pierce on July 7, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas. They were parents to seven children. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, working with her flowers and taking care of her animals. Gloria had a contagious laugh and would do anything to help anyone.
Surviving include seven children, Shirley (Tom) Vogt of Guttenberg, Robert (Audrey) Pierce of Washington, Billy (Mary) Pierce of West Virginia, Linda McFarland of Washington, Loretta (Bill) Steele of Florida, Scott Pierce of Guttenberg, and Todd (Tonya) Pierce of Guttenberg; one sister, Alice Marin of Texas. Gloria was blessed with 24 grandkids; 32 great-grandkids and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer C. Pierce in 1999; twin boys, Robin and Rubin; four sisters and one brother.
