The City of Prairie du Chien Parks and Recreation department recognizes its summer pool employees for outstanding efforts.

For the week of June 17, John Stavoroplus, a first year guard, was recognized. John worked many hours the first few weeks, subbing for guards on vacation. John also assisted a distresses swimmer in the plunge pool. Also recognized was Laura DuCharme for her awesome work at the front desk. Laura always has a smile on her face and is very helpful with all the Park and Rec information. Laura recently turned 16 and can now lifeguard.

For the week of June 24, Sommer Steiner, a third year guard and also a supervisor, was recognized. Sommer had a cleaning issue in the pool that she handled very professionally, she also assisted with a distressed swimmer. Also recognized was Ryan Schickert, a third year staff member. Ryan is a great asset to the front desk and gives patrons the right information. Ryan is always very helpful with getting everyone in and out of swim lessons.

For the week of July 1, Janet Stiener, Clarissa Oehler, and Kiersten Sprosty were recognized. All these guards assisted with distressed swimmers during a very busy pool week and exhibited great lifeguarding skills. Also recognized was Lexie Lenzendorf for the great job she does at the front desk. Lexie also does a fantastic job teaching swim lessons.
 

Employees recognized as pool Staff of the Week received either a Concrete Mixer donated by Culver’s or a smoothie donated by Dairy Queen.
