After a rocky start to the North Crawford tournament held in Soldier’s Grove, Prairie du Chien’s American Legion team came back to win their final two games of the tournament on Sunday, July 14.

Under the direction of their new head coach Steve Jones, the team started out the day at noon in a game against Onalaska. Brendan Jones took the mound for the games, helping the Hoppers to a 14-2 win after five innings.

The team’s second game also had them in the winner’s circle with a 14-1 score after five innings, and Dillon Mezera defending the mound.

A few highlights of the games include a home run by Dillon Mezera, a grand slam by Sam Neisius and a tough game-ending catch by Trey Armstrong.

The Hoppers face off Wednesday, July 17 at Bi-State at 4 p.m.
