Hoppers host North Crawford

On Monday, July 15, the Prairie du Chien American Legion baseball team played host to a double header against North Crawford. 

In the first game, Prairie du Chien was the first to score at the bottom of the second inning, taking five runs in total. The Hoppers would go on to add five more runs at the bottom of the fourth. At the top of the fifth, North Crawford tried to rally, but fell short, only gaining four runs, making the final scores 10-4.

Brendan Jones was the winning pitcher for Prairie du Chien, striking out five and walking four. Leading hitters included Casey Hogenson, who ws 2x3 with a double; Brett Trautsch was 2x3; Brendan Jones was 2x3; Tanner Heisel had a double; and Tyler Nack was 2x3 with a double.

In the second game, Prairie du Chien scored a run each inning they batted, and once again, beat North Crawford 4-1.

The winning pitcher was Tyler Nack, who struck out four and walked none. Leading hitters for the Hoppers were Tanner Heisel with a double, and Mike Garrity, who hit a triple.

Prairie du Chien is now 6-3 in regular season play. On Thursday, July 18, the Hoppers will face off against Westby at 6 p.m.
