Allamakee County Fair runs July 17-21
The 160th annual Allamakee County Fair kicks off Wednesday, July 17 in Waukon and will run through Sunday, July 21.
Wednesday evening’s entertainment will feature a truck and tractor pull, which begins at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, the group New Black Seven will take the grandstand stage at 7 p.m., followed by JT Hodges. Events throughout the day include a lawn care exhibit and plant propagation program, as well as an ugly cake contest.
Friday, July 19 is kid’s day and will feature various kid’s activities, a children’s cookie decorating contest and a kiddy pedal tractor race. A Motokazie motocross show begins at 7 p.m.
Saturday events include a build-a-scarecrow contest, a skid loader rodeo and the Tuff-n-Nuff Rodeo, which begins at 7 p.m.
Fairgoers can enjoy the animals and exhibits, as well as the carnival, throughout the week. People can also check out a magic show/balloon art, face painting and a caricature artist Friday through Saturday.
