LuVerne J. “Vern” Beinborn, 87, of Cuba City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, surrounded by his family.
Vern was born on June 17, 1926, to Herman and Anna (Elliott) Beinborn in Boscobel. He graduated from Boscobel High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. Vern married Janet Lathrop on January 10, 1957. On October 24, 1980 married Kay Wilberding, who preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2009. Vern owned and operated Vern’s Shoe Store for 19 years and worked at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa for 27 years retiring in 1987. Vern was a member of the Cuba City VFW Post 8318, Cuba City Lions Club, a member of the Cuba City Rescue Squad, St. Rose Catholic Church and was an avid sports fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Vern is survived by his children Mary Beinborn of Sun Prairie, Karen (Darrel) Gilkes, Patricia (Tim Wisch) Reuter and Wayne (Teena) Beinborn, all of Prairie du Chien, Sherry Clement of McFarland, Larry (Jessy) Beinborn of Cuba City, and Casey Beinborn of Kailua, Hawaii; his step-children Steve (Dayna) Wilberding of Cuba City, Mark (Teri Parcel) Wilberding of Charlotte, S.C., Jim (Julie) Wilberding of Sun Prairie, and Mary (Greg) Gruel of East Dubuque, Ill.; twenty-three grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude (Roger) St. Vincent; two brothers Harold (Dorothy) Beinborn and William (Orpha) Beinborn, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Kay; five brothers Charles, Robert, Lewis, Fred and Herman Jr.

Services will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Cuba City, with Father David Flanagan officiating. Burial with military rites accorded will be at the St. Rose Cemetery, Cuba City. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, is serving the family.
