Kevin Knutson

 

Kevin LeRoy Knutson, 52 formerly of the Ferryville area, passed away Sunday, June 30, at Upland Hills - Vista Place in Boscobel. 

He was born January 25, 1961 in Viroqua, to Reuben and Anita (Yttri) Knutson. He grew up on the family farm outside of Ferryville. As a child he enjoyed playing with his siblings, cousins and being outside. At age 9 he became a resident of the Wisconsin Center for the developmentally disabled, first in union Grove, Wis. and later in Chippewa Falls. In 1999 he returned home to Crawford County becoming a resident of Lori Knapp Inc. in Prairie du Chien. While there he quickly gained new friends and enjoyed being part of the community and spending time with his family. The past two years he has resided at Upland Hills in Boscobel. Kevin will be remembered for his warm and loving personality and his smiles and giggles for all he encountered.

He is survived by his brothers Kent (Kim) Knutson, Gays Mills, Kris/Swede Knutson, Ferryville, Kerry Knutson, Westby and Kory (Amy) Knutson, DeSoto; his sisters Kim (Greg) Moret, Prairie du Chien, Kristy (Charley) Fisher and Koren (John) Gunderson of Ferryville, Karmen (Shawn) Shawley, Viola and Krystal (Andy) Dalton, Boscobel; many nieces, nephews and relatives. He is also survived by his loving friends, the Deb and Tom Gilbertson family of Boscobel; special friends, Bruce, Kenny and Kelly; and the wonderful caretakers and roommates he has been with these past years.

The family wishes to thank the loving people who have been part of Kevin’s life.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Freeman Lutheran Church. Pastor Doug Andersen will officiate with burial to follow in Freeman Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be designated later. Online condolences may be offered at www.vossfh.com. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
